Dr. Santos’ History & Education
Dr. Santos began his career at the University of California Berkeley where he graduated as President of the Biologic Society. He then pursued his MD at Tulane University, where he observed his first facelift procedure performed by Dr. Stephen Mathes. At the time, Dr. Mathes was the Chair of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. He is still considered one of the fathers of modern day plastic surgery. This sparked Dr. Santos’ lifelong interest in facial surgeries and facelifts and desire to become one of the top facelift surgeons in the world by studying under, and observing some of the leaders of their times. These leaders include six former Presidents of the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery. As a lifelong student, Dr. Santos continues to observe the procedures of others across the county to both study and to educate.
The results from this education are evident through Dr. Santos’ dual board certifications from the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In addition, Dr. Santos is also a fellow with the American College of Surgeons and has professional memberships in the American Medical Association, The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the Washington State Medical Association, the Northwest Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and the King County Medical Society.
